Where can I learn more about plant tissue culture?

Plants From Test Tubes

Most people recommend starting with a book like Plants From Test Tubes. This will cover all the basics of lab setup and how to get started.

Text Books

There are also several college text books out there on plant tissue culture that are inexpensive. Many of the text books contain full protocols for plants that have been fully tested and the information confirmed to be accurate. They typically include detailed steps of the process which makes it much easier to follow along.

Protocols

If you are feeling adventurous, you can search for your own tissue culture protocols to follow along with, but word of warning, many published protocols expect you to have some base level understanding of plant tissue culture so its best to start with one of the previously mentioned options.

YouTube Videos

This is the best video that I have been able to find on YouTube that contains the information needed for you to successfully preform a plant tissue culture at home. It will help you understand the basics of sterility and how to perform a tissue culture at home in a clear oven bag which is a great alternative to using a plastic tote.

Classes

We will soon be offering a range of one on one classes that are fully hands on in our tissue culture lab, located just 30 minutes north of Boston Massachusetts.
